Morbid Attractions

What would a Skull-A-Day television show look like? With the help of a few of my friends, including the great people at the Mütter Museum, we finally know...

So what do you think? Would you watch a show like this?

If you do like it please spread the word and hopefully we can get it in front of the right people to make it a reality!

Thanks to all the people who helped make it happen...
Director: Jerry Kolber
Editor: Joshua Moïse
Writer: Ilise Carter
V/O Recording: Carlos Collazo

p.s. Be sure to check out Joshua Moïse's own film Treasury Men In Action.

It's wicked! I would certainly love to watch a show like this, and I think it would appeal to a large variety of others. Wonderful job!

Oh, yes, I'd watch this show.

I'd watch this all the time! I don't have cable, so you'd have to go with one of the non-cable stations just for me. :)

If it's any comfort Rachael, I don't even own a TV, so I'd have to make it a web based show if I'm going to see it at all!

Hi, i like it. Would you say please, "who" are the skulls from Hungary, and from where have you get them (they are visible at the 1:33 minutes of the movie). Many thank in advance, Ildiko Pap anthropologist-curator of the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Dept NAthropology, Budapest..

noah, Ive been a huge fan of the museum since 1975. I visited frequently with my camera and went to every corner I was allowed. Having said this may I ask you? have you seen what's in the basement rooms? I was able, in my early years to photograph in great detail many of those things, but found in later years... access was denied.. i did not ask why but I wonder if you've seen the "medical monsters". They are quite compelling......

I have been in their basement Dale and saw some interesting things down there, but nothing that was specifically called "medical monsters." I'm intrigued though! I'll ask about them next time I visit.

hi noah, in response to your response, Im talking about the still births in large jars... I found them fascinating because they show evidence of what the human genome is capable of... it brought to mind the question.. if these people had lived their lives, what could we learn from them?

Noah said...

Oh yes, I did see those. I agree that those and really most of the items in the collection really give you an amazing perspective on what it means to be human.

is this also the idea of the show?
"what it is like to be human"?

I think the show is more about the idea that death shouldn't be something that is hidden from view and only treated as frightening or upsetting, especially since it's something that ultimately everyone has to deal.
